How many bartenders do I need for my Mix and Make Course?

We suggest that hosts order 1 bartender per every 30 expected guests.

Do you provide liquor liability insurance?

Yes, we carry a full liquor liability policy on all bartenders, waitstaff, and Harvard Student Agencies personnel. If you'd like a Certificate of Insurance for your event, please email a request for this certificate to barcourse@hsa.net. Unfortunately, we cannot list additional insureds on our policy.

Am I allowed to follow along during the online Art of Mixology Course using real alcohol?

We strongly encourage participants to follow along as our lead mixologist prepares the signature cocktails. The drinks neither need to be made with real alcohol nor consumed during or after the course, and we do not permit underage drinking. You must be 21 years old or older and complying with your state’s alcohol laws if deciding to follow along with and consume real alcohol.

I placed an order for the online Art of Mixology Course / TIPS Certification Course. When will I receive an email with further instructions and information on how to attend?

All information necessitated for both of these courses is sent out via email the Sunday before the course.

Can you provide the alcoholic beverages for my Mix and Make Course?

Though Harvard Bartending Course does not supply any of its customers with alcohol or alcoholic beverages, Harvard Bartending Course has partnered with Drizly — an alcohol e-commerce platform facilitating the distribution of liquor. All transactions and purchasing of alcohol or alcoholic beverages may take place with Drizly and is independent of the operations of the Harvard Bartending Course. Can I extend the hours of my Mix and Make Event?

Yes. You may extend the hours of your event prior to the event date by emailing barcourse@hsa.net. You will be charged for this additional time based on the Mix and Make Rate

How will I be billed for my Mix and Make event?

Billing for a Mix and Make is done before the event begins through either an emailed invoice or directly through our website. Courses must be paid within 24 hours of the course beginning or else the order will be cancelled.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before an event are eligible for a full refund, with no cancellation fees. Cancellations made within 48 hours of an event are not eligible for refunds. 

Do you offer discounts for non-profit organizations?

501(c)3 non-profit organizations are eligible to receive up to 20% off bartending or waitstaff services. Please email barcourse@hsa.net to redeem this offer.

What happens if Harvard Bartending cannot find staffing for my event?

On rare occasions, Harvard Bartending may be unable to accommodate orders placed close to the event date, and orders placed during holiday seasons. If Harvard Bartending cannot find staffing for your event, you will be notified at least 72 hours prior to the event, and will receive a full refund.
